Made my weekly trek north up to the flea market. Not much to look at no VW related items but got the car out for about 45 miles. Beautiful weather

Took Mrs. Cusser to restaurant Saturday night in the 1971 VW Convertible. Daughter used 1970 VW as a backdrop for photos at a pre-wedding party.

Did some grocery shopping in my ´66 this morning. Pulled the heater levers up for the first time since last spring.

Too funny. I chased a cup of coffee at 5am this morning and did the same thing here in Phoenix. Very Happy

This time of year all the way until Summer is the best time of year for Beetles. I love driving them when it's cold out.

Drove around the neighborhood to verify that, yes, replacing the steering dampner bushing did indeed help the steering and that I didn't screw anything up when I adjusted valves and timing.
Then back into garage as I got to take grandson to see dinosaur exhibit.
I'll drive it hard tomorrow.

We did not use the heater in mine Saturday night, but have turned it on with top down in the past.

Forecast to be 99 °F in Phoenix today. But soon it will time for me to put the convertible top up for the "winter".

Didn't check the miles but was out for a couple hours on the highway and some country roads. Perfect temps for bugging with highs around 68 degrees.

I was JUST in Mountville over the weekend at Field of Screams. Fortunately I didn't drive mine that day, because I hit a deer on Rt. 30. Crying or Very sad

I did drive it to work today though.

Chilly morning, heat cranking, drove it to work, like I do every day. This is a shot of the Memorial Bridge around 7:30 a.m. along the Potomac River. The far side leads to Arlington National Cemetary, the opposite side to the Lincoln Memorial.

Is that the bridge the Florida 737 airliner crashed into?

No, that was the i395 crossing to and from VA. Creepy too, i drive over that one every day on the way home and ALWAYS think of that. Especially because it's in the DCA flight path and jets fly over it low constantly.

I lost the creepy feel every time I remember ' the man in the water', Arland Williams, who cheated the Devil six souls on that day, in exchange for his life.

Sorry for the heavy post so early.

Yeah, but it's still creepy...especially when you're at a dead stop and their winged shadow slides over you as you sit there helplessly stuck in rush hour traffic.

Yeah, that's a sucky feeling,

The Belt Pkwy in Queens is under at least one of the flight paths of JFK Airport. Sometimes when I'm sitting in traffic a plane will pass right over us and all I can think of is how will I know which way to run based on the angle that the (doomed) plane is coming down. haha but not haha
