Type 3 truck, with a twist.

It's oddly appealing, and the grafting of the Karmann Ghia nose & hood to the Type 3 is well done. Should be quite the looker when finished.

It's also a repost from 3 pages ago.

Some think that if your beetle has a padded dash, it's an engine donor. Some think that if it has push button door handles, it's a boat anchor.

I wonder what it sounds like with those long, un-muffled pipes?

I'll never understand why so many bugs turned into trucks don't run a type 3 or 4 engine with the flat fan layout. You might actually get a somewhat usable bed floor if you didn't have that damn type 1 fan shroud!

Because custom cars and trucks are not built with utility in mind.

It's a little out-dated as it's a post from April, but Wow, this thing is a new kind of awesome!

I don't think subtle was what was in the builder's mind....I like it. Only thing I don't care for is the 2x lumber for the bed cover, but that's just personal preference.

And I understand the comments about the pancake relative to type 1 cooling. I have 2 cars that I have built with type 1 (VW Woodie and the Bug Hearse - which isnt finished) and another VW Woodie with a type 3. It is nice having that extra space for things like chairs with the pancake.

I fail to see why this was posted. It is rotten. It isn't an abortion or a home made bastard, even with the common hacked wheel wells and air scoops.

Maybe a year ago it was a full perfect restoration and the owner wanted a ratty one instead.

^ Not bad! I think it would look better as a panel in my OP. No rear side glass.
