Primed up the oil with that pressure tank today.
Everything seemed to work as it should.
I had to let the regulator all the way out to get down to 30 psi.
I may be looking at too much oil pressure.
But then again I called myself building it for thin synthetic oil.
I might be hunting 0w20 oil after break in.

On another note.....
That pressure can is difficult to control.
I learned real quick that a little air pressure goes a long ways.
All that after blowing a quart of oil everywhere including in my face.

thats some funny shit right there Shocked yup a little blow go's a long way. after you get it running you can decide on the oil weight. remember nothing is spining and nothing is hot so you may end up hear or there on pressers... we had a jig set up to set the oil pump pressures long ago for big block & small block chevy.it was good for setting the pump bypass.and never did equate to running oil pressure, but it was good to see if it was worken at all....some didnt...and some blew out... then I started using manley or moroso oil pumps exclusively and never an issue.I always tried to get the moroso pumps, but on opccasion the manley would have to workdue to time frams and the EFFING WHORE HOUSE BEING OUT OF THE MOROSO!!!moroso was a anticavation pump and usualy had a slight lower idle pressure, but somuch better pump and better dist timing too due to the anti cav features. I thought about doing that to a vw pump....but.....I aint no genuis....although it would make it a lot eazer on the oil pump drive tang&cam...I migh try it some time if I still have a moroso pump laying around to do some messureing on.

Yes with the valves.
I gave it to big of a shot of air.
Pegged out the 100 psi pressure gauges.
Was panicking to dump air before blowing the filters off.
Should have just closed the out valve.
But hit the air dump first.....while looking directly at it.
Must have had a good bit of air on the other side too.
Enough to push back and get to the air fitting.

Made a vacuum accumulator can.
I am going to go ahead and hook up the map sensor.

I have been lead to believe that I won't have enough vacuum to do much with.
But I suppose I will find out.

I have it programmed out as alpha n, purely off the tips only.

It started.
Had the coils backward and missing a ground.

I have a long way to go on the tuning.
As big as the calculated table seemed to be.....I think it is still lean.

The battery is dead.
Started up on the battery charger.
I guess the alt belt is not tight, the belt is squealing.

I had the coils backward and the ground for the tps had disappeared.

Flipped the 2 coil wires and jumped a ground to tps.
Then it lit right up. No idle air set. These are shut butterfly with a adjustable port around for idle air. Then I have the pwm air valve.
I have the wue and pwm idle off right now.

Isn't Megasquirt sweet!!!!!

Very rarely is it ever a hardware issue.
The two times I had a start issue it has been because I had a wire hooked up backwards somewhere during the install or re-install/upgrade.

I love mine and have put a lot of miles on it.

Where are you going to put the computer when you drive while tuning???

It did not take but a few minutes to figure out what was missing.
It bloop belched out the intakes right away. So knew the timing was 180 out. Flip to wires simple enough. The tps that worked fine last time I had the laptop on it decided to loose its ground. Had the +5. The ground is open to the pin. Have not found that yet. Just jumped it to chassis.

Not too sure how to carry the laptop around.
I do have a toughbook.
Might just get bungee strapped to the little tail rack.

Drive a little.....sit on the side of road laptop tuning.....drive a little more....

Bungee strap it to the top of your thigh. Program on the go! Cool It's called multi-tasking. All of the kids do it these days. Very Happy

It has now been run through several warm up cycles.

Things are loosening up and settling in.

Over the first start hots.

Scaled up the fuel tables and have it rich now.

The ford idle air valve is online now and working.

It idles on its own now.

The base timing is checked and was on 10 advanced with no advance command (no spark advance word from computer). That is the way ford intended it.

I reved it one time high enough to hit the cam.

It sounds beefy/chunky like a big block Chevy at idle and down low.

But when the cam comes in it suddenly changes and becomes a big motorcycle sounding engine.

Gonna be wild.
