Smoke is coming out from my semaphore. Any idea what is the cause? Can it still be fixed?

12V is the cause.

When you hit a semaphore with 12V, it puts 4 times the heat into it.

You have likely burned out the coil so it needs to be replaced or rewound along with the bulb wire needing replacement. Can not tell if heat damag3d the lens.

When I remove the unit from the car I've also noticed that there was only one wire hooking up the the lower connector. Something doesn't look right. BTW, I just got the oval and it requires lots of work and I'm new to it!
