Can someone give me some guidance I'm having trouble getting the back seat in the '72 vert. Don't know if I'm missing something but there is nothing for the back to rest on???

Thx in advance

72-74 didn't originally come with a back seat so you may be missing the sheet metal and clips that would make that work.

Obviously, it would have to be foldable. As it is right now, I don't know if there much for back support. You'll also have the seat belt issue.

I'd be more concerned about doing anything to screw up the rear glass... those things are expensive to replace

I thought 7374 for the years that did not have a backseat? I agree I told my kids not to lean back ha ha when we were driving down the road. Technically I'm the third owner but the original owner at this car until she died four years ago and there are not many modifications to the car. It looks like there are some factory brackets but they look to light duty.

This is only a guess, but since your backrest has that V-shaped cutout, it looks like someone made that back rest from another seat bottom.
Look at the underside of the bottom part of your backseat. That V cutout is to allow space for the center tunnel.

Yup your right I was thinking of the big tailights. The window rests against the rubber bumpers. The seat back clips into the clothspin like brackets. The seat back you are picturing is actually a seat bottom. There are 2 metal brackets that clip into the plastic clothes pin brackets.
