I'm planning to redo the rear package shelf in my coupe with a fiberglass base cover topped off with the same vinyl the seats are done with glued to the biberglass base.

What is the best adhesive to use to affix the vinyl to the gel coated fiberglass?

you would be better off using the Contact Cement suggested here; used in a spray gun (straight out of the can) it will give you a good coverage and won't dry out too fast. clean up the gun with Mineral Turpentine afterwards (soak over night).

the aerosol cans of Glue; are not that good and jobs usually come apart or lift as there is not enough glue coming out of the nozzle to give adequate coverage.

Just my opinion; I've been using Contact Cement for 55 years and it wins hands down compared to any spray cans.
