That was my next question. Ir he simply went with 10mm thread head studs....you can buy case savers from EZ-Lok in 10mm ID x 14mm OD. They are also hardened. Ray

Rimco used to offer 10mm studs ground down to a smaller diameter....so they worked the same as 8mm.
Try rimco, try cb, but such an insert probably does not exist, because it's a stupid idea all around. Sorry, Not your fault.

It gets better with this case, the only saver that didn't come out with the studs is no 3 deep. I've just been informed that that saver is m10 id. Yet I pulled a 8mm stud out of it 2 weeks ago Rolling Eyes

I was just reading in the January 2018 issue of Hot Rod magazine, page 96 about how to repair stripped harmonic balancer bolt holes. Their source was Heli Coil 877-3642781. They actually have a 1/2 20 insert in Stainless or mild steel, whatever length you want, you can order. These are far from the 1960s heli coils I used to use. Maybe this can work for you.

Helicoils are always the same thread on the outside as they are on the inside.
For one reason or another they have chosen to specialise in only making coils of wire, not solid machined or tubular inserts.

if you know what your doing you can off set the 8mm and move the holes in the case and not interfear with the spigot bore..thats if your making them your self or having them made...by someone that knows what there doing.
