Great day at the show yesterday. Thank you Stan for your hard work and persistent to make this a great show time after time. I was able to buy and sell some great parts. Transporterfest always has a great swap! I picked up a set of split bus rear over riders for a great price. Vendors wanted to sell! I wanted to buy! Perfect.

There was a small rain delay and we had to hangout in the bus.

A BIG thanks to Stan (& everybody who helped) for putting on such an amazing weekend event! It was a ton of fun and the rain didn't dampen the enjoyment at all.

165 registered show cars, the most vendors we've ever had, and it rained for at least an hour, unbelievable! We also had 40 VWs, a Porsche and 2 vintage pop-up camper trailers at the pre-show gathering.

Some pictures below. More in my gallery. My full set of pix is here:

Just in, from the accounting firm of Cuddy, Hernandez and Wohlfarth, we have the model breakdown of registered vehicles at the show.

Bug/Sedan/Sunroof: 28
Convert/Ghia/T3/Thing: 13
Water-cooled and EuroVan: 19
Special interest: 3
Early Bus: 19
Bay window Bus: 32
Vanagon: 40

Unknown: 11
Unknown are vehicles that were there, but the owner's did not fill out a yellow registration form. Please do this next year if you are one of these 11.

Breakdown from pre-show gathering in Salem, MA.

Type 3: 2
Early Bus (54-67): 7
Bay window Bus (68-79): 9
Vanagon (80-91): 19
EuroVan: 2
Other: 5

"Other" includes a 1966 Apache and 1970 Nimrod, vintage camping trailers, both from New Jersey.

We had 44 total camping units at Salem. The 'Fort' area was pretty full with 15. We could have squeezed a few more into the 'Igloo' though. We had people from OH, PA, MD, NJ, NY, CT, NH, RI, ME and MA at Salem.

And while I still have your attention, we have 2 plaques from 2016 that need to be picked up or handed off to these people:

David Gilles
Jamaica Plain. MA
1985 Vanagon, 3rd Place 2016

Erik Levy
Sudbury, MA
1971 DoubleCab, 2nd Place 2016

Send me a pm or text (508*333^7813) to make arrangements to get your plaques, or if you know the above people and can deliver their plaque to them.

Probably too early to tell, but I am working on bringing a bunch of international enthusiasts to Transporterfest 2018. Any word on the dates it might occur? Thanks.

This event is Columbus day weekend every year.
in 2018 the show will be on October 7th. There is also a multi-night camp out before the show in Salem.
