I've been busy lately so I didn't worked on the notch so much. I took the engine out for cleaning.
Here are some artsy shot...but they're out off focus
I still haven't found the helper side pop-out latch that I need, I made a WTB add here on the samba but no one seems to have some.
So if you have one, or the part that I need and would like to help a fellow dubber, hit me up, I don't know where to find type 3 parts in here... I've been waiting for this part so I could reinstall the pop-out window so I can clean/wax my Notchback.
Thanks

I you still have not found that part i think i could get it out here in Calif. you really helped me out with the pic of the heater assembly and would be great to return the favor. Need to know driver or passenger side.Let me know or call me @ 951 796-9012. One more question do you have a picture of the tube assembly from the gas filler to the tank/heater? |

I want a garage like yours. You've got a lot of room and a nice couch to relax on. _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

Its tiny!, nah jk, though it is on the small side for me.
Once the weather clears up for at least a month I will be getting concrete in mine. |

|
|
I just had my 1500cc single port rebuilt, now it's 1600cc and still single port, and original solex, with a isp west ott exhaust on it. I was wondering what distributor to use, will I be all right with the petronix svda ( cip1- PERD186504). I did some searching here, and if I understand correctly, people either use the petronix svda or the bosh 019 with the engine combo I have.
Just want to be sure.
Thanks
Zac
I got the thin powder coated and I painted the rest.

I'm running an SVDA in a couple of my cars, including my 64 T-34 with dual carbs and single port heads. However, mines just a standard points type distributor, versus the pertronix version. It works really well.
The engine looks good too. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Well the notch haven't seen the road since the last picture in 2014, I've been busy fixing my house and the notch got sidetracked with my jetta and Bought 2 scirocco that I wanted to race the track with...Also was making baby! I just got my fourth one 5 month ago...but I'm planning to drive it summer 2018. I sold all my water-cooled vw, the notch is the only toy i got left! Now I got a tiny 1 car garage, its better then nothing...
I installed Old Speed dropped spindle and narrow arm, I have to install short axle in the back
That is before selling the Jetta, I almost got a earth attack!
not even a scratch on it, the Safari on the other end
Here's the thing that I did slowly during all those year...not much:
Surprise under the carpet
I used the cut out of the driver side to fix the helper side, I'm kind of proud thats my first welding job, I don't really enjoy it tho.
Some time I'm alone with the kids, doesn't mean I can't work on the notch...
2012
This is the same kid in 2014
I decided since I was repainting the floor, I'll remove the engine and transmission to paint under the car properly, I have holes in the front also, so I started to remove the front wing.
Little handy tool so I dont have to cut the wire.
I'll get the wing fixe by pro's, thats beyond my skill

Really nice work there Zack. I think the tree branch would have made me nervous about parking in the driveway. The rust by the fuel filler is kind of normal for cars with the boxed braces (69-73), and the fender rust is normal for type 3s of all ages.
That little tool is pretty fancy for releasing the wire tabs. Normally I just use a very small screw driver. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
