Hi Have been looking for some half decent rear brake drums to suot a 69 bus- had a look at some new ones today and I could not believe the poor quality of thes mexican built drums, pitting castings that had epoxy put in the holes to try and disguise the hole and badly machined splines .Also checked some airtech ones out that were much better castings but the splines were very loose on the stub axles.Has anybody had any experience with the CSP manafactured drums

Wolfsburg West has genuine German rear drums. Anything else is a total and complete waste of time and frustration at any price:

ONLY use good used axle nuts. ALL the new ones are downright dangerous. they are cast- not forged- and I had two just split in half when I torqued them.

The WW drums may be the best available, but the casting pattern is different from OG.

Hi Tom - the drums in the for sale ad are for a 1971 - 1979 bay that has forged axle flanges. The 1969 does not use a flange hence the reinforcement inside the drum.

The WW ad says '69-70.
The classified ad says '68-79
My photo is from my '69 camper
I bought a pair of '69 drums from the classifieds years ago.
IMO: OG drums if they haven't been abused and within specs are probably better than any aftermarket drums

Yes, the WW German drums are actually thicker and heavier than OG.

After a bit more research I believe the CSP and the Wolfsburg West drums are made by a well known brake manafacturer Sebro in Germany.I think if I cant get my hands on a set of descent used in spec or with enougj meat left to skim them out I will purchase a new set of WW/CSP drums.They are almost 3 times the price of the cheapies but I think on some partst is best not too take the risk

Yes, Sebro makes the good WW drums. Look for the pictures where Colin’s Brazilian aftermarket drums cracked at the hubs, and would have shattered if he didn’t catch it in time......

Actually, you jogged my memory- you are correct- the drums were in Sebro boxes.

| Well my CSP (Sebro made in Germany) rear drums turned up today from Just Kampers and they are a piece of art- beautifully machined and 10 times the quality of the Chinese/Mexican ones I looked at. The Mexican ones were paticully of poor quality with casting flaws filled with epoxy. Price was up there ( over twice the price of the shiters) but I think it’s the old story of cry once.Just Kampers Australia were great to deal with- recommended |

| Yep you are right - dont want to muck about with brakes, its quite scary that this shiter stuff can be sold .Like I said I can highly reccomend the Sebro drums, top notch product |

I just heard from JustKampers (England). The drums they sell (the 5x112's anyway) are from Belgium. Didn't give me the brand, but said they had no issues with them.
