Bernardet 798cc

Quote:
The 375 cm long French convertible had two seats and two doors and remained a prototype.
The car had to compete with Renault 4cv. The government made the difference by refusing Bernardet the right to buy the necessary raw materials for mass production.
The Bernardet company (originally a side car builder) closed its doors in 1950.

The gov refused Bernadet to buy raw matterials to make that?! They could probably make 2 from a crushed American car!

Please, for those that have looked at this, don't just do a google image search for the win. Let's hash it out!

I see some 54-55 Corvette styling up front, along with some Chrysler(Graham?) influence from the 40's. Definitely mid/late 50's styling in the rear corners, so that puts us at least into 57 for the build of this beast.

Maybe this one influenced later cars.

Not even George Barris could not make a vehicle that ugly, he tried on many occasions.

I see a some Lincoln, like late forties many be fifties, then again there are just a few cars I would not want to be seen in and that is one of them.

I don’t remember what it is, but I saw it in the Wheels Through Time museum in Maggie Valley, NC. A very cool vintage motorcycle museum we stopped at on a trip to run the Dragon.
