So does anyone know what is needed to remove the lock cyl. out of the latch on the rear of the 1974 Thing? I would imagine the type 1 is the same. Not get the latch off the decklid but the cylinder out of the latch?

And what would one do to facilitate the removal of the lock cylinder with a "tiny screwdriver"?
Does anyone have a serious answer to this question?
Please don't waste time with an incomplete "time wasting answer"
Why would you give an incomplete answer like that Al Capulco?
Either you know or don't know. I'm guessing you don't. _________________ '74 VW type 181

You asked what was needed. Someone with your attitude should learn to use the search button.
