|
|
Anyone have pictures of the rear seat arrangement?
I see where the seat locks against a hook for sitting, but I think were missing a bow shaped element that goes back there somewhere. Looking at the parts manual, I think its 181 885 557.
How else can the seat back be arranged? Flat to rear deck, upright to sit...
Thanks for any help.

That is item #17. It is attached (hinged) to the front frame of the seat assembly. They are in the swung down position when the seat backs are up, and swung up position (to support the seat back) when the seat is flat in the cargo loading position. _________________ Supposed to be 77käfer, but there are no umlauts on an american keyboard

Nice shot.
You may think you really don't need it when the seatback is down but it helps to support the seatback if you put some heavy loads like cargo on top. Takes a bit of stress off the seat hinges. _________________ Walküre Restoration Thread: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=737492 |

FWIW,... I've never been able to get the cloth retaining strap to snap around the seat support. _________________ Walküre Restoration Thread: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=737492 |

Wow thanks for those pics, I had no idea what those bars were for!
While we're talking about seats and such, what length seat belts are in the front and rear, mine should be replaced. |

Can someone tell me what size are the 4 small bolts that hold the hinges for the rear seat bow? The ones that came with bows from thingspart.com appear to be M6x10 but they seem to be to large.
Thanks |

Referring to the parts manual, the screws should be M6X10.
Pages 170 and 171 of the parts manual pdf in the tech section.

Thanks I found it. I believe this Thing may have been exposed to the weather at some point and there is some rust buildup in the threads preventing the M6x10 screws from being installed. A quik cleanup with the correct tap should take care of it. |
