Cusser
thank you for the quick reply
The muffler is stock and missing the two round pieces that " F " would drop into
the middle man if you will for the hose |

I have aftermarket exhausts on mine with the stock heat exchangers. I connect the flexible hose/duct directly to the heat exchangers (B in the diagram) and secure with a 2.25 inch hose clamp, and connect the other end to the fan shroud outlet. Yes, I have to "deform" part of that flexible hose to squeeze around stuff.
Here's what my heat exchangers look like

thank you for the pics and reply
i thought of trying to pass them through also but the motor was hot at the time . I will try that as the oil temp after the 30 minute drive was 215-220
I will add a tennis ball also .
I'm going to drive another car that is set up correctly and check temps . |

Ha , well , well , if it isn't the man responsible for my beetle frenzy this summer . After staring at your 53 car at Frog Rock for HOURS , I was hooked on Beetles again .
Yes , that red 71 Ghia was there as well as my Mom's 65 vert .
Like you I drove that 66 bug vert all week with the top down before stuffing it in the garage 12/8 before the snow .
How many days until Dust OFF ! |

I'm glad I sucked in another VW addict! I never realized the completion of Herbie was gunna have this effect on people. Another VW addict decided to turn his modern Beetle into Herbie after seeing the car at a show 3 years back. I love it, now he has photos of Herbie bringing the Christmas tree home. Sorry it took so long to respond to your original post on the Herbie thread. I saw it originally but we went on vacation right after that and I never got back to it. By the way the rear of that car is lowered naturally cuz of sag. I just made the front to match it.
Also the dust off is going to be at a new location next year so keep an eye out for that! _________________ Project 66 Daily Driver http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=538786&highlight=

You two are too far north from me. If anyone is further down south I'll help you with your Beetle addiction. I'll keep whispering in your ear "You're doing the right thing.". _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]

Well here are the Beetles #53 is responsible for , found in 4 different states :
The 66 vert was just outside of Cooperstown , NY
Next was another 66 vert pulled from a NH garage / basement ?
and , well , another vert out of VT
lastly I found this 63 Rag project in NW CT
looks like I'll be spending some time on the 63 Rag this winter |
