Ok, what I'm thinking is this, and be kind, I'm not an electrical wizard!
I've an old GEM car, colf cart thing.
The third set of batteries has yet again perished and I'm not going to spend another $1,000 + for new ones.
Yes, I take care of them, check the water if flooded, bring them in during the off season but their life span is a,ways frighteningly short.
I've tried the expensive Gel Cell ones too.
In My antique 36v golf cart the batteries last forever, well...... 8 years.... 6 - 6volt flooded.
This has 6 - 12 volt units and they aren't near as durable as the old 6v units.
I have a pile of working generators. I'm thinking that if the generator could make enough energy to power the unit without batteries it would be great.
I fear that I'm day dreaming and have false hope here?

Nope, just follow my input.
A 12V gen will not get up to 70V.
All you need is an old golf cart battery charger and a $5.00 bridge rectifier.

Get a charger with a wind up timer like this one. You could modify the charger is 1/2 hour.

Not to take the fun out of it and I'm not sure what the parameters are on your DC motor, but it could be cheaper and easier just to find a motor that meets your available 120 volt AC power supply. There are EV car chargers that output 72 Volts DC, but I don;t think they delvier many amps. http://www.cloudelectric.com/product-p/bc-f7210-110vac.htm
So are you trying to come up with an alternative system to power the gem car? If so and in regards to the Gem vrs old cart - are the charge discharge cycles equal on the two vehicles? _________________ Wish List:
