Thanks ! Glad you like it.
Unfortunately I will have to let a good friend of mine take care of the bus, because I recently found a even cooler bus, and I will not be able to built them all. The schedule is full for the next few years already ! |

Nice use of closeup video photography. I really like how the KEMPES bus appears vertically untouched. My apologies if this is a repost.

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

Don't know if this is a repost, but sure has lots of Barndoors. Can't remember ever seeing the Esso and Shell Aviation vans before.

The color footage with the BD SC is from the great 1950s promotional movie 'Aus eigener Kraft' which has been posted before.
what seems interesting to me is that both the aviation panel vans have been seen in books before.
also that line up with the early signwritten panels reminds me of all those logoed Kastenwagen that are in VW's brochure and in the 'Zweckvolle Innenausstattungen' booklet. I wonder if Volkswagen gathered those vans on purpose and shooting video footage along with their promotional photography.
Along with the original movie picture 'Aus eigener Kraft' (shot 1953) the director Herr Schroedter took still-photography to make a story book for the movie.
These photos are now available in the book 'Als der Käfer laufen lernte'.
It'd be interesting to find any connection between the promotional still photography and footage used for the BD brochures. _________________ Hotrods, Fords, Veedubs and Triumph Twins !

Wow! Thanks for that. Some great interior shots of an early deluxe and a funky looking Radio bus with a glass cab roof? _________________ 1951 Samba 20-017894

Pretty sure the deluxe at the end is a 15 window as well. _________________ 1951 Samba 20-017894

It's really hard to tell, but I think it's a 15 window. The roofrack is creating reflections that fool your eyes. I'm pretty confident there isn't a roof window over the cab door _________________

I watched the vid in slow mo and as the bus turns this way and that a clear skylight is never visable. They are very clear on the 53 samba in the vid under similar conditions on the same camera. _________________ 1951 Samba 20-017894
