I've looked around but haven't found any definite information. Lots of photos of speedwell pepco superchargers with mesh "filters" over the carb, a few with a velocity stack and someone with what looked like a MANN mushroom filter.
Any idea what fits with and without offset hinges? With the dusty climate here I'm not keen on running filterless.
I'm not a great fan of changing the amount of gaskets to tension the belts, anyone have any info on any tensioners that may be available or might have been scratch built?
Thanks a lot! _________________ 1963 Karmann Ghia - Sold

I would say, this is the problem with the Pepco.
I´m running an original Pepco, but, same same..
I´ve tried velocity stack, but only for show, due to my model is NOS, anti hits the lid while closing.
I found the solution in RHM air filter. RHM is a swedish supercharger, an improvement of the Judson. So, basically you´ll need an old 30/36 hp air filter for the judson.
On my zwitter all is okay while running that filter, and you´ll have the same dust protection as all running judson.
One other thing is if you find an old barndoor pickup air filter, they are 2 pieces and if you split it, and only use the first part, you might be able to fit some kind of velocity stack onto that.
Hope you´ll get some ideas!
Best of luck! _________________ Insta: 50_split

Thanks for the info, very interesting!!
I've got an old MANN mushroom filter, think i might see if I can section and flatten the part that might contact the decklid.
Otherwise I'll see about using some kind of elbow. (In the long run, looking for more power I might mount a sidedraft carb somewhere else) _________________ 1963 Karmann Ghia - Sold
