For the street, yes. For crossing the Namib desert, no. _________________ nothing |

with a better driver, and Hammond's tire, i think Captn Slow's would have "won". _________________ 1964 Turkis Flipseat |

I just watched the last two episodes. I had tears coming down a couple times. First time I ever saw these guys. The buggies were great and a fun variety.
I wonder why we can not discuss the last two episodes on the buggy forum? I thought it would be appropriate and it might turn some other guys on to the show, that might like it. It was so good!
Just curious. |

The "Beach Buggy" episodes were fun to watch, my wife and kids even enjoyed them. Lot's of nonsense, but humerous enough and there was plenty of cool off-road driving. I'm not sure how many "stucks" were edited out, but with 2 of the 3 buggies running street tires (looked like BFG Radial T/As) they handled the sand including some very serious hill climbs quite well.
On a side note, I havne't used my Amazone Prime membership for anything besides free shipping, but there's a lot of good stuff in there. We watched it on the TV, using the internet enabled features in my Sony Blue-Ray player. There's actually an icon for Amazon video, just point, click and watch.
It would be great to see more details on the buggies in the series, has anyone run across a detailed photo shoot or article? Google didn't reveal much. |

If I'm not forced to watch endless re-runs of "housewives of _______" shows Again tonight I'm hoping to watch part 2 of the buggy episode. I never realized how epic the Namib desert was. Massive dunes dumping right into the Atlantic.
love their epic adventures. I still think the Vietnam trip was the best ever. _________________ 71 LWB Manx style dunebuggy

I like that this is the second time they've had a "classic" Vw on the show and they don't go for the boring/tired jokes about volkswagens and breaking down etc etc. Cool to see both the aircooled buggies did better.
It is weird that they're traveling to a new destination every week, but aren't focusing more on the challenges. Seems like they're missing a perfect opportunity. |

The second season is off to a good start, so far. Well worth the wait (at least in my opinion). Thumbs up for Abbie Eaton, the new driver. A nice little bit of yin to balance all the yang. Although, I think Mark Webber would've done a fine job, too. _________________ "It's time you started treating people as individuals, rather than mathematically predictable members of an aggregate set, regardless of how well that works." |

Wether or not it was staged, the Bugatti racing footage at the end of episode 3 through Turin was freaking awesome. |
