While installing the winter tires I spotted the flex hose's bubble. The drivers side had two
both replaced
25 years and 165k kms lots of flexing

Time for new ones!!
Wire brush the Hades out of the union and apply a penetrating oil, not WD40, daily , for one week before you attempt to ease that joint. Leave it attached until you crack the union, then release it.
It is also perfectly good practice to Sawzall off the rubber hose to get a vice grip on it to get that joint apart. _________________ .ssS! |

The new hoses went on just fine.
I like to tighten the flare nuts before undoing them
