I love the side cutters left in the foam on the roof! I worked with a guy that was always losing his tools like that. I was always finding his tools because I was taller than he was and would find them lying n top of cabinets. _________________ If you haven't bled on them, you haven't worked on them.

That is absolutely the coolest thing ever...absolutely hideous, but in the most compelling way. I recommend shag carpeting for every surface including the needle on the speedometer.
I was wondering if you had any photos of your bus without the campre walls on it. I am really curious as to what parts of the bus they cut out to make it. Thanks. I look forward to more of your updates. |

How are you going to deal with ducting cooling air to and away from the engine? _________________ '71 panel, now with FI

Well, the reason I mention it is, from the pics, it appears that the original engine is liquid cooled, and thus the cooling air only has to pass over radiators. Now, with air cooling, the cooling air has to be ducted to the fan input, and the waste air has to be prevented from reaching the fan. This is usually done by using a sheet metal barrier to separate the top half of the engine from the bottom half. Unless I'm not seeing it, the pictures currently show no such separation.
Just curious... _________________ '71 panel, now with FI

OK, from the new pics, it appears that you're correct. Disregard the question. _________________ '71 panel, now with FI

Today we picked up a 1976 Westfalia Trailer.
It stays exactly in Wiedenbrück, the Point of Westfalia.
1st hand, original manuel.

You don't see many rebuilds on these documented. That is great, in addition to actually doing the rebuilt.
I do have two questions.
Where are the fuel tanks hiding? I see that the dinette seems to occupying that space?
Is there any reinforcement to the under body/ chassis? I would wonder how they kept chassis rigidity when they removed the roof and side wall. I am assuming the camper body is fully wood structure.
I am sure I will have others if you will humor me. I see it as a goal of mine to build one of these someday. _________________ 76 Bay - 2056 Type four |

Hi.
Thanks.
The Jurgens have 2 baywindow fueltanks.
Left and right in the engineroom complete in the back.
The floor pan is complete vw.
Jurgens put 3 tubes from left to right over the original floor pan.
You can see that in the next pictures.
On this tubes are a inner sill welded.
The wood floor is with screws on the floor and sill, the woodframe with screws on the sill.
Many nails.
On the roof corner is an alu profil from the windshield to the rear bumper. |

The left inner sill was rusty.
It is a selfmade new one.
