Watching the classifieds daily (often more than that) for nearly three years has finally paid off. This is my new ‘69 single cab. Nice repaint and newer interior. All else appears very original and stock. Stablemate to my ‘74 bus. Now to sell my ‘08 F250!

Congratulations. I’ve never owned a single or double cab. Maybe some day. I’ve worked on a few. I put power brakes in a 1968 DC once.
PS- what’s with the emblem and the antenna

It's funny, around here when I drive my bus I get smiles, waves and the occasional thumbs-up. With the SC people want to stop and talk

The PO included a chrome emblem that never got installed and I'll eventually swap them out. I don't get the antenna, either.
More pics soon. _________________ David

Gary, I noticed the antenna, but what are you questioning about the emblem? _________________ 1970 Crew Cab |

I’m no truck expert but like the blue DC, I assumed that it would have had a chrome emblem. No? Some did, some didn’t? _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum

I am pretty sure that trucks came from the factory with white emblems. All of the factory photos I’ve seen show that. They are no longer available, so most restored trucks end up with a chrome emblem. I only recently figured that out, and one of my winter projects is to refinish an original white emblem I bought to replace the chrome aftermarket one I originally installed. _________________ 1970 Crew Cab |

Comercial trucks came with painted emblems standard. |

Here’s some more pics. Not surprising after nearly 50 years but this isn’t the original engine. It appears to be a 1500 single port. Starts quick and runs sweet, though.

If you don't mind, how much did you get this for? $30k+? _________________ 77 westy 2.0 FI

You can get the aftermarket chrome, remove the chrome with a Kleenex, and paint for that OG look _________________ .ssS! |

I was also frequenting an auction site for a while. There were a couple of single cabs that came up, one in great condition like this one. With 10 minutes remaining in the auction I submitted my very, very top bid at 17,500. But things got crazy and it sold for 30k. That’s when I quit looking at auction sites and started thinking the market had passed me by. But I hung in there (here) and finally got this one near my price limit. That’s why it took nearly 3years. Worth the wait! _________________ David
