I have spent two days searching the World Wide Waste-o-time and can not find a vendor that carries inner non-urethane bushings alone for a ball joint beam Brick wall I found sources for full length Delrin bushings and CIP1 carries Micarta bushings for KP beams but no luck on BJ bushings. There are however as many offerings for urethane bushings as there are reasons to avoid them. I am in the process of rebuilding my front beam and would like to source replacement bushings before i remove the old ones. I can buy the full length Delrin bushings and cut them down to use as inner units but that sounds terribly wasteful.

The closest I can find to what I am looking for is this Front Control Arm Bushing from NLA for a Porsche 356B T6.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Is this what you're looking for?

If not, ask Rudiger for the original German part you need.

Have you tried calling Airkewld or LimeBug? I'm sure they would hook you up.

I really like this option and plan to pursue it. The bronze will offer longer bushing life and better support for the trailing arms. They can be machined any size so I would probably get them about 50% wider for the added support.
If it does not work out I can always get bushings from Kaddie Shack. http://shop.kaddieshack.com/

UPDATE:
I ran across a video from "Kaddie Shack" which led me to their web site. There I saw they sell beams with needle bearings which prompted me to contact them about the inner bushings. They replied quickly and I wrote back to them asking for more details on the bushings but if I understand them correctly they carry "Delrin" (Nylon aftermarket bushings) and Micarta/Bronze (German OE style bushings.)

Here is the rely from customer support.

Hi Emil. Thanks for the inquiry.

Yes. We can get two different styles of the inner bushings:

Nylon aftermarket bushings are $10.95 each
German OE style bushings are $18.95 each

We don’t normally carry them in stock here, as it’s pretty rare that people are going that far without replacing the beams. We can, however, get them within a day or so if you’d like us to. Let me know which ones you’d like, and if you’d like us to ship them or put them on Will Call for you. We would need a credit card number or we also accept PayPal if that’s more convenient.

Thanks a bunch!

if you are going to get the bronze ones made, measure the inner bearing surface on each arm, cos often they wear a bit. that way you can get the bushes machined to suit your arms.
I did 1/2 thou press fit into the beam and 1 - 2 thou clearance bearing to arm for the grease to get in.
Others of an engineering background might have some other useful figures

So I did this for my type-3 but it might help you type-1 guys.

I had my bushings machined to fit my trailing links. That means I gave my trailing links to the machinist so he could use them as reference.

But after I drove the bushings into the beam the IDs had closed up a little. I used an adjustable reamer to reach in and get the fit right again.
