Not that it has anything to do with busses per se,
But,
Things are getting a bit our of hand.
Just had to share here..
I (unfortunately) recently had the displeasure of trying
Banana Hefe Bock.
What are some of these people thinking?
I'm at the point now where I'm (Almost) ready to swear off of IPA even, and stay with regular Pale Ale only.
Funny, how it's often hard to find just a regular pale.
What with all of this triple ultra death by hops nonsense..
Are beer drinkers just trying so hard to be cool/different?
What could possibly explain this phenomenon?
What's wrong with just doing a really good job with traditional beers?
People did it the way they did for thousands of years for a reason, right?
Discuss.. _________________ Bus Motor Build

I know what you mean. An OG beer is so much more satisfying then some fruited up hybrid beer that smells like sweaty arm pits. Right Clatter!

When I first read that, I was thinking, "Actually, banana is a correct and traditional favor for a Hefe and therefore appropriate" but then I re-read and saw that it was a Banana Hefe Bock. Then I thought "why the F are they combining Hefe with a Bock?" That does sound gross. (The banana, for the record, is a flavor produced by the particular strain of yeast. They don't or shouldn't be adding actual bananas!)
I think it is fun to try the strange experimental flavors and all that, but rarely re-buy them. I'll go on to some other experimental thing before re-buying a pack in most cases.
It is generally something more traditional like a "regular" (i.e. not melt your face with bitterness) IPA or Pale Ale. Or Miller Lite. Thats my cheap beer of choice. My bus cooler is usually loaded with a mix of the three "categories" within my buying habits. _________________ Dave Cook

^^This right here^^
Experienced beer drinkers (Practice regularly!) like Xevin,
Cover their bases..
Like in the blurb three posts above,
when working hard outside on a hot day,
For many hours on end,
You want something lighter.
I have been going for, (what was my nemesis in my beer snob/college days), Coors light(!)
Had me a Miller Lite yesterday on the plane ride, first time in years, and it really hit the spot, BTW!
When you are working around power tools, and getting hot and thirsty and thirsty and hot,
You don't really need something with an ABV in the 9s, dig?
They end up going down like the water I actually should be drinking!
And this brings me to what my wife keeps insisting.
(She actually insists upon lots of things, but yesterday at 4:40 PM.. ),
That our favorite 'Light' beers are actually really bad for you.
They use full-on GMO ingredients that grow right up out of a bed of Roundup.
Many, like my favorite Coors Light, contain large amounts of corn syrup??
Here, I'm drinking something lighter, in the illusion that it's better for me,
lower calories and all,
but in reality, a craft brew is made from better ingredients..
Now,
Of course we don't drink beer because it's health food,
But,
When you end up drinking as much as I do..
Does anyone know of a light/yellow refreshing-on-a-hot-day beer
that doesn't have Monsanto GMO corn syrup? _________________ Bus Motor Build

I feel like your wife may be reading things her friends post on facebook a little too much!
From my experience working in a craft brewery for a while, I believe that many of the (at least smaller) breweries get most of their base grains from the same sources. It is just how they mix and match the grains and in what proportions that make the difference. So they probably all have some good ole GMOs in them. The different varieties came in 50 lb bags and we just weighed out the right amounts of each one.
But even if you don't like corn syrup, corn syrup in beer isn't the same as corn syrup in Coke or Pepsi. The corn syrup would simply be a source of sugar that is consumed by the yeast and turned into alcohol and CO2 in the beer. Shouldn't be any corn syrup at all left in the finished product.
As far as beer as a health food: The Bock style was originally brewed by monks to drink during Lent. They drank the beer for it's nutrients because during Lent they were fasting from food completely!
Many people believe that one reason beer was developed was as a way to safely preserve the nutrients and calories that were present in the grains.

Clatter. I can think of many beers of what you seek. But this should be available in Santa Cruz.
Full Sail, Session Premium Lager
https://fullsailbrewing.com/session/
Yep, just checked. All over SC. Remember only available in 11oz bottles. _________________ Keep on Busin'

BBB 2018 (Beers on Bays by the Bridge )
Keeping with the theme of Chloe's tire cover, a Kona golden ale was chosen.

This is a little old, I didn't think about it before. These beers were towed by a Bay, (seen in the background) to Bustoberfest in October, using my Thing as the trailer (and then camp runaround vehicle once there).
I worked at the local brewery several (sheesh, almost 10!) years ago and we remain friends. Sometimes the owner will send up extras and short fills when I go to Bustoberfest, to "feed to the hippies!"
