This is a Challenge and taking this seriously
have to many days and Hours to find a unsolved
Mystery Color for a Pearl White Body 61-63
On Type 3 color chart is NA
So anyone have done this color or used any other to look similar?
I already trusted my paint shop for L479 Tan Beige
Wish the name don’t mean anything to me but the CODE is
Important and after I painted was more as Medium Brown
But Shades are so different on a piece a paper or sunlight etc
So here are picture To look _________________ 68 T34 1600 Automatic

Amigo, I am not sure what your exact question is, but what I am seeing in your flash/ no flash photo looks correct to me- clay grey/tan in regular light, beige in florescent or flash white/ blue light.
That's why it's called a clay/ beige.
The lead color, clay, will be what you see in regular light.
Somewhere on here, I think in the body section, someone posted the original formulas for mixing these paints. If you can find that the ingredients will tell you why you are seeing those different colors with your varied ratio of brain/ Patron. It will also guide you to how accurate/ inaccurate your color mix may/ may not be.
Pearl White is tricky as PPG (who now owns Ditzler) seems to have two different shades for it, one of which is slightly more grey and not correct, but both are the same VW paint code of L87.
I have an original 1963 pearl white Variant. If you want I will lend you the ash tray for proper color matching.
If your paint guys can get Glasurit paint have them do this. They seem to be more accurate on color mixing to original specs on our older German cars. The price is a sphincter spasm but well worth it in the end on a correct restoration.
I did find the mix list. The component colors are in German, if you need a translation email me. I didn't have time to go through all 8 pages to see if clay beige is there.

Do you still have the OE paint color on the back/inside of the glove box door? If so, take that to your paint mixer, and have them read the color. In my case when I was doing my T-34, I took it in, and they custom mixed me a sample, of some Omni, that they could re-scan after I shot it. Most of this was caused by me wanting to shoot it in urethane single shot paint (they didn't have a formula for it on file in that kind of paint). It was a pain in the ass to do, but I got the color I wanted (Sea Blue #2), even if it was "custom mixed" just for me. Later when I got some more of that paint when I did my rims, the paint can called the color "Bob's blue". I should mention that color was a royal bitch to shoot, as it kept flipping between green, blue, and purple.
Short of taking in the glove box, might need to bring them a rear fender or something like that to scan.
Then when you shoot it, it'll be more like all the shots of Patron will be equal, except the 5th and 6th shots. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Two further ideas:
1. Try contacting gregson1 and see if he might be able to help- he's pretty fanatical at tracking down exact original info like this.
2. Try Mercedes color code DB 157 grey beige. I am seeing Clay Beige referred to as Grey Beige using the same VW color code you provided. Mercedes colors are also mostly Glasurit so you might be able to order a touch up bottle from one of those auto touch up paint suppliers and see how it stacks up.
I can't tell you how often I've found exact match colors between Porsche, VW, and M-B just with a different name and proprietary color code number. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
