Is it on some kind of rotisserie? That almost looks like a boat trailer under it. |

So, I drive around a lot for my work. Today driving home from an appointment I saw this....
It caught my eye as familiar so I doubled back to take a look.
...
I left a note. |
So, ...
... does your boss know that you waste a lot of company time doubling back and writing notes to leave on complete stranger's project cars?

Kinda, My clutch had been acting up since my July 4th debacle cutting open the tunnel to re-weld and secure the clutch tube. Turns out the rivets in pressure plate were backing out, Kennedy covered it and sent me a new one. I just need to first do some clean up that is easier to do while motor is out.

Yeah, that idiot knows. He coincidentally has a soft spot for VW's too.
Back on topic,
So, what are the odds the owner calls me?
turns out pretty good _________________ GhiaBuild

Was that a "These are my plans for the project, and I have no intention of selling it." type of callback, or more of a "This is what I've done with the project thus far, and now I need to pass it along to someone else that can finally finish it." type of callback?
... or are you holding your cards too close to your vest to comment at this point?
Are there any other details that you care to share at this point such as model year, level of completeness, current condition, work still needed, just exactly how soon will you be dragging it home, etc.? |

Yes, more details! It's definitely in the City of Los Angeles... looks like the some place in the San Fernando Valley. _________________ '58 Ghia 2387cc with a Berg / Folts 5 Speed

Damn, I had a full response for you guys and "my computer" lost it! OK, the Readers Digest version.
1st, KG, you are right...and wrong...and right.
Super nice owner, long time VW guy, he knows what he is doing. He shops here on thesamba for parts. It is a 57. He has a 58 pan for it. He believes he has all the parts needed to assemble (glass, interior, instuments, bumpers...). Plus a whole lot of extra parts. Its not in the San Fernando Valley but the much preferred San Gabriel Valley . He is not emotionally attached to it. He would sell but would want to get what he has into it back. He is going to finish it...or move onto his next project.
So, I am in search of my next project but Im not sure this is the right one for me. Contact me with your cabrio lowlight project. If anyone is interested let me know, i will screen and pass on the intel.
So, Yesterday I spotted this, Wide hatch walk thru.
