| Hello fellow VWer's I have had this question for a while , why did VW change the coler blue on the wolfburge crest to black in 1960? |

Probably for the same reason they periodically changed the vehicle color choices.

Less fancy colors, less fancy cost.
Would not be surprised if the manufacture of the crest also did that after getting VWs approval to speed up production.

I'd bet also that by going from 5 complex colors to 3 simple tones VW achieved much greater consistency from the various subcontracted companies who made them.

of course the reason for the changes in number of colors, and complexity, then final deletion of the entire badge could be for design reason, not cost driven.
Maybe thought was for the new year model look to be less ornate, thus more slick, more modern design as far as looks?? After all with out many other outward changes, how can one tell one year from another on the Bug?
