That is a surprise,to see the paint coming off like that. You just used a soft brush and a cloth dry,I wonder if the door has been repainted with a house paint.
What did you use as a cleaner/soap?

Used regular dish soap , The bus has been sitting in the sun for the last ~7-9 years.

Another data point - the panel on the opposite side does not shed any paint -

Then Rustoleum Heirloom white / Canvas white ( depending on the side of the van one the above share works better than the other )

Definitely do not use these paints. They will degrade quickly, and the colors do not match.

Proper auto paint in Pastel White is available in spray cans.

Overdue Update:
* Most of the paint was chalky and oxidized.
* On Majority of the panels the paint rubbed off to bare metal / primer. ( Driver / Passenger Door , front of bus were okay - for rest of the bus the paint came off quick and easy )

* At this point am looking at a complete paint job - spot fix and buffing will not work.

The project graduated from a DIY clean up to taking it to a paint shop. Next step is to get recommendations and visit local paint shops to get the job done.
