Did it do this before the new parts?
So, if only in reverse ... Does this happen while turning? On hard surfaces? On soft surfaces(gravel, grass)? _________________ Brian

No it did not do it before the new parts it does it on any type of surface in any direction I did stay underneath it about all day yesterday and found the 2 bolts that the front of transmission mount slides into was not tight but here is the kicker it looks like the bolts are fixed into the tubing and are stripped off so the nuts will not tighten I'm hoping this is the culprit any ideas on rethreading the bolts? Or they gotta be a fix for them? |

The front mount on the pan has two welded studs for the front transmission mount, which mount with 2 nuts.
If those studs themselves have the damaged threads, then I'd try rethreading with a die to restore the threads or re-cut them to the next smaller size (even SAE and using appropriate nuts).
Alternative is to repair with welding.
If you're real lucky, then maybe the nuts themselves have the bad threads and you could just use new ones. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. Well here is the results. Rethreading both studs ordered a new mount installed everything back guess what? Same friggen jerk yesterday dropped engine again took clutch pressure plate out looked like new unbolted flywheel and some oil dripped out of seal?? And it kinda looks like a slick oil burn on flywheel and some on the edge of clutch disk what now? |

Rear main will leak when you pull the flywheel. Did the flywheel have the oring that seals around the crank? That will keep oil off the clutch surface. |

It did exactly that when I took flywheel off dribbled about a quarters worth of oil out the oring is in the flywheel the clutch looks like it's just been hitting about half the clutch pad? Maybe flywheel.needs resurfaced? What would be your next step in the trial and error process |
