|
|
I am looking for some mirror arms similar to these:
I seem to remember them called "ambulance arms" but I can't seem to find any for sale.
Are there arms similar to these that were standard equipment on commercial buses or ambulances?
Does anybody know what I'm talking about? _________________ "Saying what we think gives us a wider conversational range than saying what we know."

These were available as an M-code (M-194) option for any bus. But they were usually installed on some type of commercial bus-

Damn those are cool.
Learned another bit of info today...I would have assumed those to be non mcode aftermarket mirror arms. Those are futuristic looking! Love 'em! |

I purchased a set and put them on my '65 DC.
I'm pleased with them. _________________ 1965 Double Cab

My Dad got these mirrors and arms NOS in 2003 IIRC.
They do have nice visibility.
One of the mirrors is convex. He has had that mirror re-silvered as it went bad.

What year did these come out? As in, what is the earliest known bus to have come with these. Post pressed bumper id guess, but id love to hear they were early. _________________ Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

Hey Clara, are those style mirrors as shown in your photos still available
somewhere? I'm referring to the mirrors themselves, not the arms. |

I believe they were/are made by Frese
searched on harp mirrors on the samba and came up with a few hits- not sure if this is what you are looking for- esp the concave mirror would be an oddball to find

Maybe you can help me. I bought a set from Aircooled in England but the mirror mount rod was not machined to size, just the casting polished. My mirrors which fit normal arms will not go on the casting because it is oversized.
Did you machine your arms or did they come machined? Any suggestions you could help me with, please? |
