I have been rebuilding a Manx replica buggy over the last 2 1/2 years. I am at the stage of remounting the body. The previous build was pretty bad. This body does not sit flat on the mounting rails. the inside edge is raised. My thoughts have been to try to fabricate a mounting plate out of some angle. The plate would allow me to sandwich the fiberglass between it and the pan rails. The curve at the front of the body will take a little ingenuity. Any thoughts/experience with this scenario? |

Start bolting it down, slowly a little at a time. use a heat gun just warming the flange a little at a time working your way around |

Yes. What cudabear said. Fiberglass is very forgiving. You can close up huge gaps by just sneaking it down bit by bit. It may take a few days and heat does help. The plate to spread the load is a good idea as well.
