| After years of frustration, and seeing thee "I hate photobucket' in the sub-message part of at least one member's postings, I'm finally ready to do whatever I may have to do to see the photos. Not to download or to store them, but just to view them as part of the posting I'm reading. I would guess the topic's already been covered, but when I put photobucket into the search window, it gives a list of posts that number 5000-- that's what it says! SO- step-by-step, what's the secret? And why isn't it easy to find that info on the "Announcements and Sticky Topics"? |

I don't think there's anything the viewer can do. I believe the noted fix needs to be run by the photos' owner on the PB account so that others can then view them.

Better question: can links to photobucket images be flagged when the post is created (like an illegal file type is now)? I think I tried to upload a PDF and had to convert it to a JPG before it would work. Maybe there was a similar filter that looked for /photobucket/ in the file name/URI we could make sure no new ones are uploaded.
If there was a list of *all* photobucket images here, they could be probably be fed into a download script and at least stored locally. Linking them to the posts would be a lot more work…

Yes, I could block people using Photobucket in the text of a Forum post but the real problem isn't new posts, it's thousands of old ones that are now dead.
The fixes in the browser add-on linked above works, for the most part.
The photos have to exist there but only be blocked to be shown via the browser add-on.
