Hello, I have a jan 55 oval.
Euro spec with heart tail lights.
I noticed they both have the drain holes, but only one has a VW stamping.
Is this correct? And are there any other incorrect things? See photos.

My Australian March '55 with original hearts has that logo stamped in both, definitely original to the car. Same size and position as the one in your photos but definitely stamped into both left and right side tail lights. _________________ 55 build: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=680057 |

True, but I would suspect these are originals too... _________________ When a deluxe is not enough.... you go standard

I'll get some photo's in the morning (night here now). They're both bloody hard to see, OG paint and rust doesn't help but should give you a good idea. Otherwise they look pretty spot on, the bulb holders look correct and the housings look identical.
Has the car or parts been resprayed at any point and been sanded down or something? Possibly even a change between JAN 55 and MAR 55? Anything is possible with old VW's of that vintage really. _________________ 55 build: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=680057 |

Thx for the info.
They are not original mine, but need them for resto. Bought them from someone who had them for over 30+ years... _________________ When a deluxe is not enough.... you go standard
