Hey Guys,
I have a 10 Inch wider beam on a rail I purchased that has foddril arms and spindles. The front end makes a HORRIBLE noise the entire time running. I don't see any Zerk fittings on the beam and the noise is awful. whats the best method for greasing this or installing fittings.
Also a tremendous amount of noise from the steering, even with the car off the ground.
Thanks in advance. |

What type of bushings do you have up front? Was the beam a custom build or a stock beam that was widened? If it is a stock one there should be at least 4 spots to grease it. _________________ Wash your hands

It's a custom beam. No torsion. Through rods with white SACO bushing.
I've never heard of anyone widening a stock beam 10 inches |

The Delrin bushings don’t take any grease. Usually it is the urethane bushing the squeak bad. Delrin usually is pretty quiet, but can squeak. If the arms fit well in the bushings, i wouldn’t worry about it. Drive faster or with a louder exhaust so you don’t notice it. _________________ 1800 Type 4 Berrien 295

If the Delrin wasn't reamed properly it could lead to a lot of noise. _________________ "There has never been a genius without a hint of madness."

While some say delrin bushings don't need to be greased. I feel, based on personal experience with delrin beam bushings, and partly from 11 years in Plastics Research and Development, that delrin beam bushings should MOST DEFINITELY BE GREASED! _________________ Richard

Turns out it was the Heim joint on the tie rod. I've never heard such and awful noise from a Heim. Thanks for all the replies though fellas. Looks like SACOs reputation for noise free bushings remains intact. |
