Lots of fun today at the first Fort Lauderdale vanagon meetup! Great people and 6 terrific vans (probably half the number in all south florida!)
Thanks to all for a really fun day!

Thanks for hosting Mark. It was great to meet everyone and check out Westy's, Syncro's and BURGERS! 😆 _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Mark, thank you for hosting a great get together. You did a great job bringing us together and thanks for the nice lunch. I met a lot of very nice people and had great discussions about our Vanagons and our life experiences. It was fun. I didn't know there were this many Vanagons in South Florida. There were some very nice Vanagons there, very well maintained. Mine is the tan and brown 1984 Westy in the picture.

Sorry I missed this. The ZenBox is under the weather right now. Looks like the beginning of (maybe) future gatherings? |

The inaugural fort lauderdale vanagon meetup was such a success we are planning on doing it again in February, Detoxed. We will probably hold it at Birch State Park. Will keep you posted |

How is it that in "flat" Florida we had so many Syncro's there? _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

We had such a great time at the first Fort Lauderdale meet-up in January I'm wondering if there's any interest in another gathering in March before some of us start our treks back north. I was thinking Birch State Park would be a good place to meet. It's got lots of parking, it's never crowded, there are picnic shelters, and the beach is right there too. Or I'm happy to host again at my house. Thoughts? |

I went one year and it was a good show so I'll be there this year.
I'm open to any other date that comes up. _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Steve, I'd be up for heading down. Do you think the organizers could set a space aside for a vanagon coral? _________________ ☮️ |

I have no idea really. I just show up as J.Q. Public!
Maybe contact them through the website above.
The flyer I picked up only has that as a contact point.
Last time I was there there were a few Vanagons within the show area and some more parked along the road from spectators. _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Markscullen I would be up for either venue, your place or Birch State Park. The last meet-up you hosted was great. It was nice to meet the South Florida Vanagon owners. Let me know the date and what you would like us to bring.
You were an excellent host and have a nice house with a great location.
Last weekend we went to Shark Valley in the Everglades and met a guy with a beautiful Syncro who lives in Miami. I can email him and see if he wants to attend also. His name is Hector. _________________ 1984 Westy Wolfsburg, owned since 1987. FAS 2.0 NA engine conversion in 2022. |
