I'm reasonably sure that pic has been around a while, it does look like a real pic, if it's PS'd it's one hell of a good job. I recall it saying it was in Thailand or somewhere though, the RHD and LH cargo doors sort of play along with that. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Is that the same one Koch's built back in the 90s with more windows and a different paintjob? I think I remember hearing that the Koch's limo bus ended up in Japan.

Unless they sold it, BBT in Belgium owns this Bus.
I saw Bob post he used it for a local wedding a little while ago

This was in 2016 but the fastest post I found on their blog, there may be newer posts |
i doubt they would have put in the windows, closed the cargo doors, hacked new ones in, converted to RHD, etc. _________________ regards

Pretty sure that bus is real, and is in Southeast Asia/Philippines. _________________ nothing |

The limo is legit. I thought it resided in australia? I'm sure I'm not the only one whose had this posted on their social media multiple times since 2010

It appears real and lives in Australia.

If I recall correctly, I believe is still sports a poor overworked type 1 engine also. It should be buried with full military honors for pushing that thing around. |

Doh! Didn't even notice the RHD and cargo doors! The windows could feasibly have been grafted in during a refresh/repaint but yeah. _________________ 1973 Superbeetle: 1st car, owned since age 12. Update thread --> https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=9919140#9919140

Too bad you can't open those doors in a standard height garage. |

If you can afford that steaming pile, you can afford a garage with tall ceilings. _________________ nothing |

Side width is an issue too.
I think I could open that in my taller than normal 2-car garage if it was the only car and parked in the center.
I couldn't drive it in with the rack though - my door is normal height, it's just a bit taller once you are inside. _________________ How to Post Photos

There should be a "It's my bus, I'll do what I want" thread to memorialize these abortions

I cringe at the thought of what the original donor bus might have looked like before the hackery commenced, all the camper and engine work looks fresh. Would a similar (or likely much less) time and money investment on the original donor towards just making it driveable have improved the value beyond the sellers current ask?, or is it not about profit or cost recovery and more focused on the percieved "cool" factor? Maybe they didn't check out the market before they took the sawzall to that field find? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

My former boss in Fishersville, VA constructed the mini semi.
Nethken and Associates was a VW repair / kitcar fabrication shop.
Ken had a wild imagination with a lot of talent. The late 70's and early 80's
was crazy for the custom car scene. |
Saw on Facebook this morning that the mini semi split has reappeared and is for sale on ebay. No trailer unit anymore though... https://www.ebay.com/itm/263581994122?ul_noapp=true _________________ Andy
