Pretty silly question, but there's your answer |
That’s 5.037Kg. I hope you’ll be OK in a crash. Did you sand it before you painted it?

I did sand it.
Also bumped my life insurance policy up a little. |

I would guess the steel is toward the low end of the range for a medium carbon steel. |

Not to be pedantic (OK, I'm pedantic), 5.6 kg is not a weight -- it's a mass. Weight would be in pounds or newtons. |
Being even more pedantic, pounds can be mass too, SI for weight is Newtons as standard. _________________ 1977 Bay window Devon Moonraker, 1600 type 1 engine. |

People! Steel is steel as far as weight is concerned (this is not exotic metalurgy on these). Therefore the weight of a bumper is directly proportional to its thickness. An OG bumper weighs a lot more than a flimsy aftermarket one (which is thinner). As soon as I got it out of the box I knew it was too light. I sent the aftermarket one back and had the body shop straighten the OG one after a rear end wreck, well worth it. _________________ Dirk
