PostPosted: Sat Jan 21, 2012 2:48 pm    Post subject: ivory pinch welting installation Reply with quote

as mentioned earlier, i purchased the ivory colored pinch welting and covers from wolfsburg west.

i’m very pleased with the results. this will look nice with the beige headliner/beige cloth interior i will someday install in my coral red beetle.

the first photograph is a closeup of the cross-sections of the ivory welting and the black welting. notice the ivory welting is shorter and has one less set of “tangs” to grab onto the flange of the window opening. when i installed the ivory welting, it actually fits better than the black one.

here’s an overall view of the finished installation…including the ivory cover which is an exact copy of the black one provided in koch’s kit.

i’ll mention one final time that i’m very pleased with the pop-out kit available from koch’s. the ivory pinch welting and cover reproduced by wolfsburg west are also excellent products.

How are these pop outs holding up after a few years of use? Still happy with them? Smile

Hi,

someone tried to cut their original Sekurit windows (non pop out) to fit in a repro pop out kit? Wink
