I looked for a "split beetles in film/tv" thread, but didn't see one, and couldn't find this covered here:
Seen in the Nat Geo two part series "After Hitler" (towards the end of part 2), there is a scene with multiple splits offloading from a Berlin Airlift plane at Tempelhof Airport.
It's brief, but good quality. 37:38 here:

Thanks for the post Z !!
The Berlin Blockade (24 June 1948 – 12 May 1949) was one of the first major international crises of the Cold War.
So, this great photo of those post WWII Split Window Volkswagens must have been taken during that time period.
BTW, my father was in the Air Force stationed in Germany during that time period and did the weight balance
calculation for the airplanes going to Berlin. I was born in Frankfurt, in the US Zone, 1948.

Very interesting information Bob, your father had a very important role in the effort; as the documentary shows - with those low altitude landings some of which had disastrous fiery endings.
A salute to his service, and your family heritage with its longstanding VW connections.
Happy [air-cooled] motoring!
