Looks like a Allison or a Allison clone.

Looks to be one of the early designs with the more rounded nose. Early 70's is about as close to ID'ing when the body was made.

My seats were already mounted when I bought the last one, they appear to be original vw seat frames but cut way down, they used the seat rails that was on the pan. The driver one was really stiff to move I think it was in a bind never took them out.

I live in Amherst as well. This was one of the very few VW's I did not know was in the area. The price was so good, I was going to check it out myself, but I work swing shift and was working nights when the ad was placed. Sorry I can not be of help, but congrats to you on the purchase!!

I live on 151 about 3 miles from Piney River. I don't know who to tell you that will paint it after hours. Bill's body shop does good work at decent prices. I have had Choice Collision in Madison Heights do some work for me, and will be using him again in the future. His work is awesome!

We must be pretty close to each other.
I live just off 151 on St james church rd. I have a few vw parts here. and a lot in WV. Let me know if you need anything. Thanks for the info on the painting. I was thing about a shop out here at the end of 151 going toward amherst. I was going to stop in and ask some questions.
Thanks
