Now that's what I'm talking about. It needs a 34, though, as they four lugged from August of 1965 until July of 1969 when the Type 34 was discontinued and that production line switched to the VW/ Porsche 914. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

bare bones but opted for a radio. Mr. Frugal had priorities |
Yup.
Interesting point about Germans and some other Western Europeans being "frugal"... some of our Euro members will correct me if I am mis- remembering or if what I am saying didn't apply in the Sixties but when you bought a car you were taxed per engine displacement. A 45 HP 1500 was cheaper than a 1600... and if I'm not mistaken it was a yearly tax, too, so you'd be looking at savings over duration of ownership.
Another interesting point along this same line is that the reason you see so many VWs titled as a year older than they really are has to do with import duty tax games both in Europe and all over the world. A used last model year car wasn't worth as much to the tax man. That's not the only reason this happened, but it's one of them. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

So Tram it looks like all your previous comments about exterior trim, clock and things that looked off is indeed the extra/options that were added. So this being a 1500 it should have had a single side draft yeah? Would it be the same as early cars? _________________ 64 N Model Notch,65 OG White Notch

Should be the same as '64-5 N, possibly the same as '61-3, but early early cars might have had some strange variants- pun intended. You'll need a 12v choke and cutoff jet, and the real pisser- late muffler with preheater tube. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

As a '67, it's interesting to see that it's got a single pot reservoir and probably a single circuit master cylinder.
I have 2 NOS sets of those black slider knob things - have only seen them on one car before this one.
Interesting ride for sure. |
going through my spares on the weekend and found the black sliders i used to have on the panelvan....
you can just make them out in the pic..........
dont ask me when or where i got them or what they came off.....too long ago _________________ 1965 Type 3 Panel Van
