Cut flywheel and use thicker shims. _________________ There are no stupid questions, only stupid people,

BUTT first!!! if it's a aftermarket crank it may have a bigger raidi(fillet) and the main bearing may not be clearance enough for it keeping the crank from acctuly contacting the thrust serface of the bearing. if it is just clearance the bearing in a lathe...or it will burn up the bearing&crank&kill the case too. |

You may have a bearing wrong without shims there should be about 1mm of play. 39 Thousandths of an inch. (Note! if the distributor drive gear is installed it could be jammed causing it.)
Correct #4 Main Bearing Placement:

don't check end play with no shims.
Check with two shims, or before putting the case together. |

Don't know if its been thrust cut, but mic thrust surface 3 places both case half's, seen some case's out here from bad thrust cut, 001-.002.
As above check radius, start with the basics, be careful if you have flywheel cut, no run-out between crank surface and thrust surface allowed! _________________ 73 Type 181

case is not together still in mockup stage working on clearancing at the moment
it seems two of the counter weights are less than .040" from the cam lobes yikes ! Whats minimum acceptable clearance here?
between #3 and #1 at #3 rod cap, and #4 and center main at #4 rod cap _________________ "Albatross"! |
