Anybody out there know what this wire was for? Its under the fan mounted on the clutch.

It's for the factory timing sensor that is in the case. Just leave it there and don't worry about it

It was for the factory fuel injection.

Not fuel injection... TDC sensor for obsolete diagnostic plug.

our 74 carb engine had one
