This was in my car when I got it, I'm guessing it's not the correct one, or is it?

Showed it to my buddy. He thinks it's a 60s Chevy pickup gas cap. _________________

there was a smooth one for sale at the Koch's toy and lit show in SoCal on the weekend... $40 I thought was a steal. Would have bought it for a spare, but don't need to hoard stuff.... |
... that's funny Brian. I love to buy parts for a good price., just to have them. I guess some call that hording... a couple of the parts you got from me were in my care for a looong time. Like the script Bosch fluted lens. Sure was happy that was a perfect match for you. Glad I had the insight to purchase it and then "hoard" it, until you needed it |
Oh, i've got stuff Bernie.... just have to draw the line sometimes |

Hi, I have an Oct-52 Zwitter with a 60mm tank. I have to repair the filler neck.
I donŽt know if the grooves on the neck (where the gas cap enters) comes vertical or horizontal placed if you see the tank from the front of the car. I saw it comes both ways in 100mm tanks, so IŽll appreciate the input on that.
In the two pictures one can see one vertical and one horizontal grooves in the neck end of this two 100 mm gas tank. I wonder if the same could happen in 60 mm zwitter gas tank.

Here is a pic for you to see of both kinds of tank from above. I don't know if the same appears in the zwitter 60mm tank openings. If there was on emblem on the cap, I would put the slots in a position to give the correct emblem alignment when the cap is tight.

This one is a Brazilian Split "Kombi" gas cap... there's a little script below the VW logo that used to say KOMBI before being polished and restored, it seems... Now its impossible to read. I own a few of these caps. |
