I have a new AS41 case, the cylinder cut out is 87.13mm. The AA cylinder (VW 8550T1, STD 85.5mm) is 89.40 at the bottom and 89.90 at the step. Measured the cylinder ID at 85.38mm and they fit in the 043 heads.

Our 1600cc piston & cylinder kit slips right into place of the stock P&Cs in any air-cooled 15-1600cc engine.

Which dimension is off?

I have seen 1600 cases AS41 043 101 102 A for sale, I have the same part number on my cases.
The 1200 part number is 113 101 102 B and they look different at the cylinder cut out.

It would be helpful if someone can masure 1600 cases AS41 043 101 102 A, or any 1600 cases AS41 and 85mm cylinder at the bottom step.

1200 cases have 87mm cylinder registers, 1300/1500/1600 cases have a 90mm register

The exception are some 70s 1200 german cases which do have the large 90mm register,
