That car is 'drop the mic' cool and your vision realized. Revel in it.
I have to admit I was hoping to see it rolling, maybe getting a little jiggy with it....

not much to report. dropped insurance for winter, moved it to a new garage since my gf and I bought another house. accelerator pedal mount is in perfectly the wrong location so i have had a lot of issues with it. bought a roller style pedal but haven't gotten around to fitting it yet, might require a different accelerator cable but I hope it might help with some perceived flat spot issues I had.
sent in an application for the detroit autorama for next march, so I'll have to at least do a little work on it by then.
just been busy with work and have also been doing a full kitchen renovation in the upper unit of my old place. trying to get stuff rented out by the new year so i don't feel as broke. still bike commuting even though its down in the 30s here now because my truck is on its last legs. you know, just doing the life thing. |

I go to Autorama just about every year. I would be fun to see it there. |

The more I see of that car the better I like it!
Dual single barrel carbs, centrifugal only distributor and dual cannon exhaust pretty much guarantees a flat spot and popping back up the carbs, likely nothing to do with the gas peddle. |

Didnt see which carbs you are using. Assuming dual single barrels and an 009. You can usually tune this out pretty well. Watch exhaust when hitting the throttle. If you get a pretty good puff of black smoke, then your accel pump shot is too big. But usually I do run a little stronger shot with an 009 than with an SVDA. Just not too much of one.
Check your timing. Full mechanical advance (around 3000 or so RPMs) should be between 28 and 32, but once again, with an 009, it tends to like 32.
Your pedal travel should be as follows: At idle, should not be pulling at all, At full pedal, you you should be against the stops at the carb or damn near it. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

Thanks.
Haven't messed with car at all for several months now. Did get confirmation that I'll be allowed to park down in the basement for autorama this year in Detroit. |

Thanks! Had a pretty good time at the show. Was very tired by the end of the weekend after talking to everyone about where the bubble came from and whether I drive it and everything else. Let a whole bunch of kids get their pictures taken in it and a few old dudes too.
Some pics from the show (found most of these online various places, so will give credit if anyone sees one of their own.)
here is some dudes from hot rod magazine (I think) sitting in the car
here I am with Fay Butler after winning his celebrity award for 'best metal' on saturday
and here is a picture with Cliff Starbird (Darryl Starbird's son-bubble top people.)
was a pretty good time all around. I actually ran out of gas on woodward on the way home and had to get some help from some random people to push the car a couple blocks to the nearest gas station. Too funny. |
