Hey everyone,

I'm having trouble finding someone near me (Bay Area, Palo Alto to be specific) that will do any non-insurance work. I'd like to get some basic body work done and have the entire car painted. I can find someone to media blast but it's all for nothing if I can't get the car primed and painted shortly thereafter.

Does anyone know a shop within a reasonable distance? I am not looking for a car show paint job, it's a driver, but I'd like it to look nice on the road.

Thanks!

As I feared...it looks like the answer is probably "there isn't a shop". :/

Does anyone know of any shops that are a reasonable distance? I'd be amenable to Reno or San Diego or something. A friend explained recently that getting paint done in Nevada is better than California due to something regarding water based paint. Is there validity to this?

Call Skinner Auto Body in Vacaville. They are bus specialists, but should give you some other Pros to call if they don't want to do it.

Smittys Autobody in Meadow Vista just did front end repair to my Thing. He has lots of photos on facebook and on instagram-just search the net. He does really high end cars as well as daily drivers too and they do a very good job.

I called the place in Vacaville when looking for a shop and it was 2 months before they could even get a parking spot on their lot for my car.

Doesn't hurt to call.
