Cool . . . lookin' good! Cool

Two questions for ya . . .

What angle did you use for the steering box . . . the clamp has two positions, one for Bugs and the other for Ghias . . . did you use one of them?

Have you set the gas tank in there to check for clearance around the steering shaft?

It is set up for beetle, not ghia, and yes, the tank fits. It is real close to the shaft, but no contact. Three years, and it's still not done!

I’m curious regarding the statement regarding the steering box clamp. Which part has two positions?

Here you go, the ghia's box is at a different angle than the bug. IIRC 13 is for bug tab and 14 is ghia on the clamp.

Interesting. Does the arrow point to the front or back?

From The Samba,
"I went through this issue while mounting the box on my beam this weekend. I looked at an original Bug beam to find the the 13 faces forward (& it's closer to the drivers side drum on LHD cars) on the clamp, so, I figure it must be the 14 facing forward for a Ghia. I faced the 14 forward to have the extra "drop" in the column. I want the column under the dash instead of coming through it. I may have to elongate the hole in my blukhead "firewall" area, but, it's only fiberglass & shoyuld be able to be patched easily enough."

You are correct as a Ghia is a type 14.
