My KG is a Lowlight version but the previous owner remove the fix rear glass and install a popout glass.
To do this he cut the L metal are in the body to do the rail of the glass.

Now I want to recover this rail becasue I want to install the fix glass.
I know I need two parts, one is the chrome part you can see outside of the car and the other is the L part fixed in the body, this second is that I want to install again.

This Youtube video will be of some assistance:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xd_VsWXqRVQ

For the install you will need the following low light specific parts:

inner L shaped support strips
quarter window glass
outer chrome trim (two pieces per side plus a chrome clip where they join)
rubber seals
aluminum trim strip for front edge of glass (KGPR made a great reproduction, hopefully they are still available)
small screws to attach L strips and chrome trim

If you need the chrome trim there are some pieces for sale in the classifieds. Unfortunately, there is only one L support strip in the classifieds and I think it's way over priced: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2083135 You might be able to talk the seller down?

The L shaped strips would not be that hard to make since all you need is an overall length and width of the two legs.

Loren, thanks for all information.
Now I know the L Strips is not fixed in the body, yes the price is a litel bit expensive, I will try to make one.

with you list that is the materil I need:
Outer Chrome trim -> Clip and top part.
Aluminum trim strip for front edge of glass
L strips -> I will try to make

I will check KGPR if they has a material.

This weekend I have been in a shop concentration of VW in Valance (France) and I saw a some Lowlights and post 59 and the rear popup Glass is not optional in lowlight version. The Popup is more short and for this reason the door glass has a space between door and rear glass.

Now I must to find a rear fix glass with all pieces to restore the original glass in my lowlight version.

If someone has some piece to sell it will be great.

Thanks all for the answers.

It's Valence and not Valance.
I went there too. Have you detailed the low light color bamboo ?

Yeap!! I have two quarter rear glass of Lowlight and the down chrome piece, now only is missing the top chrome piece, clip and the aluminium piece are in the vertical part of the glass. I can see the light Smile

The question I ask about the measures of the hole to fix the chrome parts and the "L" piece is you can see in the pictures.

The most of the holes are covered.

Two threads for you...

Here are the inside channels or "L" pieces.

Here are the screws that hold the chrome window trim on. You can get an idea of the spacing from the photos.
