I had a similar overcharging problem on my 74 Thing...I adjusted the charging rate inside the voltage regulator...it's very simple to do...I watched a video on YouTube to see how it was done, and the only things you need are a small screwdriver and a voltmeter...I gave the screw about 1/8 turn to bring it back into spec...Watch the videos to see how it's done...You'll have it dialed in within five minutes...Measure the voltage across the battery terminals at a fast idle to do this...Make it around 13.2-13.7 volts and it's done. |
