Yes, you are right Amal carbs were used on a lot of English bikes. However the Germans had the rights to make Amal cabs and thus they were called Amal Fischer in Germany. Used on pre war BMW motorcycles and others. Then Bing carbs replaced them.
I have a 1951 ad showing this carb set up in a German magazine as proof they existed.
Your homemade kits looks cool. I would have made single intakes instead of the
long one. |

Please, no one have a kitten, but it's 'dual.' A 'duel' is a fight. _________________ “If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? Mending old things, preserving them, looking after them – on some level there's no rational grounds for it.”

Thanks for sharing this kit with us! It's not like all the others but I love it!!!
It truely shows, that it was made in the early 50's and for 25hp engines.
Cutting a genuine K manifold today to make a dual carb kit needs a lot of braveness |

Tim, it's not 100% correct. Amal was the biggest carb company in Europe and it's right that they gave licenses in other countries.
But I don't think that Bing replaced them. As Amal carbs were developed for English four stroke bikes that often had +600ccm, Bing used the gap in the market and produced carbs for the huge number of small mopeds and scooters after the war.At least that's what I'm assuming.
Well, tomorrow I'm going to visit another big swap meet and will ask ALL the motorcycle guys if they can help us out with more information for the Amal 22 carbs on your kit. |

I just meant that some Amal carbs say "made in England" on them and some say Amal Fischer "Germany" on them. My kit should have the German made amal carbs? Not arguing that Amal was a huge carb dealer / manufacture in England.
I still have not found the correct fuel float bowls?? anyone have leads? I contacted a few people and they either didn't know or said I can buy repro "England" float bowls that should fit. I will keep looking.
I also would like to see a set of these 25hp Okrasa heads if anyone out there has any?? I didn't know Okrasa went back that far to 1952?? Tim |

Well I sold my 25hp Amal duel carb kit a while back and now I wish I would have kept it. I have parts to one and was wondering if anyone has any parts or has an original set that I can duplicate a few parts? Please let me know. Tim |
